Siemens Electromagnetic flowmeters operate based on the principle of electromagnetic flow measurement, specifically the Faraday's law of induction. According to this principle, when a liquid flows through the measuring tube, the flow generates an electromotive force within the tube, which is measured by a pair of electrodes placed on the tube wall. This electromotive force is proportional to the velocity of the liquid in the measuring tube, allowing for flow rate measurement.

To measure the flow rate, Siemens' Electromagnetic flowmeters use an electromagnetic signal generated by the electrodes on the measuring tube and measure the magnitude of this electromotive force. Based on Faraday's law, the flowmeter calculates and displays the flow rate value of the flowing liquid on the display screen.
